About Our School
The school was founded in 1895 and has been extended multiple times to the school you can see today with 4 classrooms, a hall, two offices and a library. We have recently completed the redevelopment of an old cottage in the school grounds which has given us a number of additional rooms for the school. At the same time we have been able to add some land to our grounds, giving us a redesigned and more spacious playground and even our first playing field.
The Primary School was established on the site of one of eight tithe barns belonging to the Parish of Berkeley in 1869. Since then substantial and continuing improvements have been made to the school and its facilities. The school is situated on the A38 Bristol - Gloucester road at Stone in the county of Gloucestershire, serving a wide local area.
Children from 4+ to 11 years of age are welcomed to the school and parents of prospective pupils are urged to visit the school by appointment.
Stone with Woodford School is a small school, the children know everyone and will have the opportunity to work with and play with children across the age range. The staff know and work with all of the children. We are able to offer all children opportunities to be involved in school productions and other activities.
