High achieving rural school seeks outstanding new head teacher!
How does a small village school in this beautiful part of the West Country consistently achieve results in the top 3% of primary schools in the UK for progress in reading, writing and maths?
Our answer is always the same. It’s our unique approach to teaching and learning, encouraging each of our pupils to think outside the box and believe in themselves, combined with an inspirational head teacher who leads a team of passionate, talented staff.
We firmly believe that this is why we are an outstanding school in the eyes of Ofsted as well as our parents, staff and children.
Having educated generations of local families and seen their children flourish in their chosen universities and careers, our head teacher is retiring after 20 years.
So now we’re seeking a new leader; an enthusiastic and innovative Headteacher with the vision to lead our team and inspire us to continue to achieve the highest possible outcomes for our children.
Our school is a special place to work, at the heart of a rural Gloucestershire community with a beautiful church and village green. Nestled between the River Severn and the Cotswold escarpment, we are surrounded by lush countryside. Historic Berkeley, with its legendary castle and Dr Jenner’s museum (home of “the father of immunology”), is our closest town and Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester are nearby. The beaches of South Wales, North Somerset and Devon are about 2 hours away.
We need a Headteacher who will help us continue to make learning a life enhancing experience for every child and demonstrate how a commitment to the Christian ethos can enhance their lives.
You’ll need to be committed to our community and school: a positive role model with the ability to inspire our children and staff to reach their full potential.
We’ll be committed to you, too. Our governors, staff and parents will use their combined strengths to support you in planning and delivering a strategy for our school that builds on all our successes and will also help you achieve your own personal development goals.
