Hi there, if you didn't receive paper copies of the activities because you were already at home here are the ones that we sent out.
Please be patient as for me, this is a steep learning curve. I know both Mrs Bartlett and Mrs Baker, when she returns, will be much more with it than me.
Each week there will be a daily phonics activity to do for Yr 1 and a spelling activity for Yr 2. A daily maths activity, a writing task and reading. There will a topic task about the Romans which can be done over the next two weeks. Due to a problem uploading a phonics activity pack because of its size we have given you the web address for twinkl and a code which will give you free access. The pack to type in is phonics-screening-survival-my-monster-book-of-phonics_ver_5.pdf I really hope it comes up for you as it has some lovely activities.

Remember to read at least 5 times a week. Ms Bartlett is in the process of setting up a log in for you to access ebooks at the stage your child is on so watch this space.
All Chestnut Class- English
In Monday's writing link there is a picture with a list of daily tasks to do. Try and make them interesting and include capital letters, fullstops, question marks when asking a question, interesting descriptive words to bring your writing to life, try and use 'and', 'because', 'but' or 'so' to extend your sentences and of course oodles of imagination. with each task try and write five good quality sentences.
Mon- Use the picture in the document and write 5 interesting sentences about them.
Tues- Write 5 interesting questions about the picture.
Weds- Where do you think they have come from?
Thur- Where do you think they are going?
Fri- Imagine there is a portal at the end of the trees. Describe where it goes to and what the place looks like.
Chestnut Maths
For Year 1 maths clink on the links which have Year 1 written on them and for Year 2 the Year 2 link. There is a page per day with extra for those who wish to do more. We have also included the answers.
Chestnut Topic
For the next two weeks research an area about the Romans which we have not looked at yet. As a class, we have learnt a great deal and we at least managed our trip for you to uset.
Some ideas for topic research could be:
Houses, food, schools, learn the Roman numerals or anything else you fancy. You can present it anyway they like for example as a book, in a shoebox, as a diary a mini book etc... The project is up to you but must include some written facts and information. When finished please take a photo if you can so that we can share what you did when we return.
