Monday- Answer the questions I have written for you below in storytime section. Year 1 to answer 3 questions including number 3. Year 2 to answer all questions.
Tuesday- Draw a picture of Daisy Dawson, then around the outside write adjectives to describe what kind of character you think Daisy is. e.g. friendly, cheerful, lazy etc.
Wednesday- Using your adjectives from yesterday, write sentences to describe Daisy Dawson. Daisy Dawson is a friendly, happy girl but she can be a daydreamer and that is why she is late for school.
Year 1- Write 2 sentences. Use capital letters and full stops. Use 1 or 2 adjecties in each sentence.
Year 2- Write 4 sentences. Use 2 adjectives seperated by a comma ( Daisy has straight, brown hair). Try to use but and because to make your sentences longer.
Thursday - Write a letter to Miss Frink explaining why you were late for school and how sorry you are.
Friday - In the book, the author uses beautiful language to describe the animals. "A large grumpy-looking bloodhound", "Its fur was the colour of sandstone and it's serious brown eyes stared out from the folds of baggy skin that hung around it's face."
I would like you to choose an animal to write about. It could be a pet or any that you have seen in the garden. Then you must write sentences to descibe the animal using adjectyives. You could think about how it moves, what it sounds like and how it looks.
Year 1 - write 2 sentences to describe your animal and draw a picture.
Year 2- Write 4 sentences to describe your animal and draw a picture.

There are more lessons if you scroll on past the maths documents.
This term we are learning about plants. We will be learning about different types of plants, plant growth, seed disperal and the different parts of a plant.
This week I would like you to:
1. Go on a plant hunt, either in your garden or on your daily walk. Find 3 different plants and draw them and if possible I would like you to find out the name of the plant.
2. Once you have drawn and coloured them you need to record where you found it, was it damp? Sunny? Shady? This is called the habitat. Different plants thrive in different habitats.
If you have access to the resources it would be great if you could plant a seed, or bulb or bean (runner beans are great) and document its growth over time.
You could put the runner beans in a plastic cup or a sandwich bag with damp kitchen towel and put it near a window. It won't be long until you see the bean begin to sprout. This is such a good way to get the children excited about plant growth. When it is big enough it can be planted outside.
Storytime New chapters added, Check Mrs Baker Youtube
Our new chapter book this term is called, 'Daisy Dawson is on her way!' By Steve Voake. This is a lovely book that follows the adventures of a girl called Daisy and her relationship with animals. You will find Mrs Baker reading the chapers on her YouTube page- Click on the link below.
After listening to the first chapter I would like you to answer the following questions and discuss with an adult, This will also be your English acitivty for Monday.
Year 1, pick 3 questions to answer including question 3)
Year 2, answer all questions.
1- What kind of girl do you think Daisy is?
2- Why do you think Daisy is late to school everyday?
3- If you were like Daisy and could talk to animals, what would you ask your pet or an animal you know? Write 3 questions with question marks at the end.
4- What sentence in the book tells you that something changed so that Daisy could now talk to animals? What did Daisy say?
5- What do you think Miss Frink will say or do when Daisy gets to school?
Daisy Dawson is on her way
Chapter 2 "Cheesy Cheddars"
RE- Gospel, What is the good news Jesus brings?
In this work, the children will investigate the lives of people for whom Jesus was good news. Jesus offered friendship, forgiveness and peace. Children will think about how these three offers are good news.
Jesus is a friend to the friendless. If you needed 12 people to change the world, who would you choose for your team?
Maybe you could think of people who are admired, brilliant, successful?
Perhaps they could have qualities such as being strong, kind, clever, helpful, sharing etc...
1. Discuss your ideas with an adult or perhaps you could come up with a team with your brother or sister?
2. Draw a picture of your team or better still, make a paper doll chain of twelve and decorate.
Jesus chose 12 men to be his world-changers, but they were not people who you might expect. Read the story in the document below about how Jesus chose Matthew to be one of these 12 men. Why do you think Jesus chose him to be one of his 12 men? Discuss with a grown-up.
