Week 11
Hello everyone!
This week we will be using the talk for writing booklet and book talking tasks to build our english skills. We are looking at angles of turning and understanding clockwise and anticlockwise in Maths and planning a trip around the world . There are some more creative tasks linked to our English work book to be tried in the afternoons!
This week's work.
We will do a class Zoom call at 11, all together! Please make sure you are up to date on the chapters and do your best to attend as we will be doing a quick book quiz and setting our writing task for Friday after doing some book talk all together. Please try and sit somewhere quiet so we don't interupt one another with any extra noise!
Again, I will be in school Monday - Thursday supporting the keyworkers so I will try my best to respond to emails but it will be difficult. I have spent the weekend catching up with everyones work and I've been so impressed!
If you do have questions, send me an email and I will do my best to reply as quickly as I can to you.

Up until now I haven't set a timetable for the work, letting people have some flexibility to complete tasks in the order they choose, but if your child is returning to school in the keyworker class part time please try and follow the timetable to allow an easier teaching day within the keyworker class as at times there will be children from years 1-6. Thank you.

This week we will be using the talk for writing booklet created by Pie Corbett (The voice of radioblogging!) as Radioblogging has now finished. We will use it across the week for different activities. You can use the booklet by printing it off or completing the majority of the tasks within your work books or on plain paper. I recomend printing at least the story pages off as they are needed daily and it is easier to make notes on a paper copy. Some of the creative tasks will be assigned for afternoons and we will be doing a task together on Zoom on Friday.

Your amazing trip around the world!
This week I want you to combine your knowledge of places, animals, habitats, plants and climates by planning a trip around the world! Read the instructions for Monday carefully
Day of the week |
Task |
Monday |
Today you need to plan your journey! You need to use the map of the world to help you. In your journey you need to include places that have different biomes, they are:
You need to use the knowledge from earlier in the year to recall where you might find these different biomes in the world. You might be confident with naming countries with some of these biomes but may need to research a bit more for others. Today: Write down your five biomes and use the equator map to help you identify different countries that will likely have one of these biomes. You will need five countries by the end. You could even use your "locating biomes" map to help you! |
Tuesday |
Research two of your places for your world trip. Choose two of your countries that you picked yesterday. Today you will be researching the details for a visit!
Answer these questions for BOTH countries. |
Wednesday |
Continue your research, two more of your places for your world trip. Choose your next two of your countries that you picked on Monday. Today you will be researching the details for a visit!
|
Thursday |
Continue your research, the last of your places for your world trip. Choose your last country that you picked Monday. Today you will be researching the details for a visit!
|
Friday |
Create a leaflet for your round the world trip! You need to use a piece of A4 paper, lay it horizontally and fold it into three sections. You will now have 6 panels, one for each country and a front cover to advertise your round the world trip! Use your research to add details of all your places, tell me where you will be going, give me the details of the cities and possible animal excursion opportunities. I have attached an example sheet with samples from a holiday brochure which shows you different ways you can present your information! |
I am really excited to see and read your brochures so don't forget to send me photographs of your work!
