Home School Activities for COVID-19 closure

Please click on the tab for your child's class to find out what work has been set for them. Activities for EYFS have been set on the Beech page on here, but photos and observations should be uploaded to Tapestry for which parents have login details already.

We hope that your child will read independently every day - but please find time to read with your child. There will be work set for the week. Please encourage them to carry out a daily English activity, do the daily maths that has been set and carry out some topic work.

Please read with your child the tasks they have been set to check that they know what has to be done. Teachers have tried to ensure that your child can mainly work independently but there may be some areas where your child does not feel confident. Please encourage them to use a positive mind-set by starting with what they know and what they need to achieve then set a plan to get there; this may need to be modified as they go along or they hit upon a problem.

Children in Year 5 and 6 will be expected to do some time on Sumdog, and complete the 100 word challenge each week. They all have their passwords and login details. Children, who do Nessy every day, may access this from home. Any writing they do may be posted on our blog site so that it can be shared with teachers and their classmates. All children are familiar with how this works and how to post work. We hope that children will comment in a constructive way on each other's work - 2 stars and a wish works well!
