Week 14

Hello everyone!

This week we will be using our new class book to complete our English tasks as well as padlet challenges. We will be thinking about graphs in maths and in the afternoons we will be looking back on all your achievements this year.

This week's work.

We will do our final class Zoom call at 11, all together! Please make sure you are up to date on the chapters and do your best to attend as we will be doing a quick book quiz and setting our writing task for Friday after doing some book talk all together. Please try and sit somewhere quiet so we don't interupt one another with any extra noise!

Again, I will be in school Monday - Thursday supporting the keyworkers so I will try my best to respond to emails but it will be difficult. I have spent the weekend catching up with everyones work and I've been so impressed!

If you do have questions, send me an email and I will do my best to reply as quickly as I can to you.

Toad escape from Toad Hall

Write from Toad's point of view the part of the story where he sneaks out. Make sure you start from when they lock him in the room. Remember that someone comes to check on him. How did he come up with his plan? What did he have to do to prepare? How would he be feeling?

Toad's trial

Write a letter as Toad to either Mole, Rat or Badger explaining what has happened and that he had his trial today. What do you think he would say? Do you think he would apologise for his dangerous behaviour now or does he think it is still someone elses fault?

Remember to lay your letter out carefully and end it from Toad!

Thursday Listen to Toad's adventures part 4

Toad's escape!

Create a wanted poster for Toad now that he has escaped from jail. Remember you need clear information and details about the character and his appearance! Include a picture too!

Topic

Our year!

This week I want you to do some thinking back over what we have done and what you have achieved. You can use the sheet attatched at the bottom, one for each day, to help you organise your thoughts. At the end of the week I want you to produce a leaflet for Oak class that will tell the year 2s what to expect and look forward to when they join the class in September!

Thursday

Starting your leaflet.

Fold a piece paper into 3, you now have 6 sections!

Page 1: Cover! Advertise Oak Class! What picture might you use to grab my attention?

Page 2: What rules do people need to know for coming into Oak class? Think about if they need certain things on certain days - you might even include a schedule! Do we have different teachers on different days?

Page 3: Where to find things and what you need! Think about what you would do if you needed equipment and what you bring to class on a normal day - perhaps draw a diagram and label it, a pencil case or backpack perhaps?

Friday

Finishing your leaflet

page 4, 5 and 6

All about what you have done and get to do in Oak class. Write about the experiences you have had and the things we have done together. WHat stands out as things you've enjoyed and want to tell people about?

I am really excited to see your creations so if you have a chance to make them I would love a photo!
