Willow class

GREAT TO SEE EVEN MORE OF YOU HAVE NOW BEGUN TO USE SEESAW. I'VE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THE MATHS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING, SEEN PHOTOS OF ART IN PROGRESS, COMPLETED ART WORK AND SOME LOVELY ANNOTATED PIECES. IT'S GREAT TO BE ABLE TO SEE SO MUCH OF WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING. IF YOU HAVEN'T YET, HERE'S SOME INFOMATION TO EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO GET STARTED.

I have set up a new online learning journal for everyone in Willow class to use. It is designed as a way of sharing work between home and school. It is called Seesaw. In more normal times it will be used to share photos and examples of the work you do at school with your parents at home. But right now, with you completing your learning tasks at home, it is a way that you can share the tasks you have done with me.

Each child in Willow class has a Seesaw account ready to go. You need to use the code (emailed to your parents last week) to set up your account on a PC, a tablet or a smartphone.

How Do Students Use Their Home Learning Code?

1. Students go to https://app.seesaw.me/ on a computer. Or install the Seesaw Class App on an iOS or Android device.

2. Students tap “I’m a Student”.

3. Students scan their code using Seesaw’s built-in QR code reader or type in their text code to access their Seesaw account.

4. Post to your journal, respond to activities, and view class announcements.

5. Remember, this code is like a password. Keep it safe!

This is an excellent facebook post which is a tutorial on how to post your work to your teacher.

Each week's work will still be set and explained here on the school's website- which will be posted up an a weekly basis. (With a few extra optional activities and challenges set on Seesaw)

I have set this up so that you can keep me informed of what they are doing every day. You can post your own work to me as you complete it, using the app. (My own children at home in Year 2 and Year 6 post their work to their teachers each day as they complete each lesson at home, whilst others in their classes send it all at the end of the day). It will take a little while for you to become familiar with using the app, but it is quite intuitive to use and means that you can receive feedback on all your hard work. You will also be able to comment in response to my comments.

I hope that you will enjoy this new way of communicating between home and school. I look forward to getting to see all the great hard work you are doing.
