Last week there were some super pieces of writing from our pupils too. The world can see the work that you do. I can't wait to see it!  Just click on the link below

READING: This week's reading comprehension is about the Easter story. There are 3 levels of comprehension text and questions in the attached document: complete the 3 star questions using the 3 star text.

SPELLINGS: This week's spellings can be found at the bottom of the page. Practise every day then test yourself on Friday.

TOPIC: The NEW topic work set for this week is RE work, on the theme of Easter.

There are 4 tasks for you to complete.

1) Watch https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/religious-studies-ks2-easter/znkngwx which shows you 2 children from Christian families celebrating Easter. [SORRY, THIS CLIP IS CURRENTLY REFUSING TO PLAY-SO MOVE ON TO TASKS 2 AND 3 AND TRY AGAIN LATER IN THE WEEK!]

TASK to complete in your exercise books: Notice a number of actions and objects that have a meaning: they are symbols for Easter, for Jesus or for Christian beliefs. Often a symbol works as a reminder of a part of the story.

Here are 5 symbols you will see in the clip. (i) The fire burning on Easter morning (ii) Touching the stone where Jesus fell (iii) Hot crossed buns (iv) The Easter egg (v) The chicken born from the egg. What does each one stand for, or link to? What reminders do these symbols provide of the stories of Jesus at the first Easter?

Draw 5 'think bubbles'  and write inside them your suggested meanings for each of the symbols.

(If you'd like to use the sheet attached below you can-or design your own)

2) Click on the link: https://www.natre.org.uk/uploads/Free%20Resources/2%207-11%20RE%20Today%20and%20NATRE%20home%20learning%20Easter%20Expert.pdf  Watch the video and complete the tasks about Holy Week and about Max's Easter.

3) Click on the link https://www.natre.org.uk/uploads/Free%20Resources/2%207-11%20RE%20Today%20and%20NATRE%20home%20learning%20Jesus%20Journey.pdf Watch the video clip and find out about the Stations of the Cross. Choose one of the Stations of the Cross and create your own piece of art to represent it. It could be a drawing or painting or a 3D piece of art. The choice is yours.

4) Make an Easter card or an origami Easter rabbit. You can come up with your own design or use the ideas from these youtube videos
